Another dot in the blogosphere?

RIP Grant Imahara

Posted on: July 18, 2020

I loved Mythbusters when it was airing. When it got cancelled after 296 episodes, I watched the short-lived White Rabbit Project on Netflix. The latter featured three Mythbusters, Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara.

Sadly, Imahara passed away from a brain aneurysm earlier this week. The YouTube video above was a short tribute by Discovery to him.

I liked the way he worked quietly and humbly, and how he put up with the shenanigans of his colleagues. I even liked how he did not like fish touching him in the water. But most of all I liked how he communicated science simply and accurately.

We have lost a servant of science and the creator of a version of The Child (aka Baby Yoda). The animatronic was supposed to visit children in hospitals and I hope it still does as part of Imahara’s legacy.

RIP, Grant Imahara. You are one with the Force and the Force is with you. Always.
