Another dot in the blogosphere?

What’s in a name?

Posted on: July 12, 2020

Like some folk, I am bad with remembering the names of people I have just met.

But if we were to work or socialise, I take your name seriously. I want to know how exactly you spell it and say it instead of assuming I know how.

If you are not careful with my name, I question your dedication to detail and my value to you. I do not think that this is unreasonable thought.

Your name is part of your identity. It might was given to you (or you might have chosen it) for a reason. That reason matters.

Saying and spelling a name correctly is showing a modicum of respect to that person. Say it properly or spell it correctly. Is that too much to ask?
