Another dot in the blogosphere?

My first reaction to the tweeted images was: Nice.

My second reaction was longer: It takes observation and skill to take advantage of opportunity.

Before making the shot, the photographer (or photoshopper) had to see the link between the hair parting and the path. One might call this observation the practised eye.

To make the shot, the photo wizards had to line things up just right. This meant positioning themselves, the girl, and the background to create the effect. The skill was to make real what was in their mind’s eye.

The same could be said for edtech integration. It is not enough to provide technology skills. Teachers need to see opportunities and to make them real. The practiced eye comes from critical reflection while the skills come from constant tinkering.
