This is one of my favourite quotations about education. I might have first discovered it when I was taking an anthropology elective where we discussed the differences between schooling and education.
The quote has been attributed to Mark Twain. Like most truncated quotes, it might not have been said exactly that way. But that does not discount it as a truism.
I wonder how many teachers know the differences between the two. The differences are so important that I think only those that do should call themselves educators.
