Boring-looking video is ironically interesting

As I watch educational YouTube videos, I sometimes analyze them for what makes them work.
The screengrab or thumbnail of this video does not look particularly interesting. In fact, the drab lab setting might be a turn off compared to the environments that the SlowMo guys shoot in. The video is also 6.5 minutes long and unlikely to tempt a click much less sustain watching.
But it has other things going for it and I would use this video (amongst others) in an educational video design and development workshop to impress upon educators how to rethink teaching with videos.
