Jailbreak Apps

Jailbreaking your iOS device is legal here and in the US. The Register of Copyrights has deemed jailbreaking to be fair use.
I jailbreak my iPhone and iPad to free them from the constraints Apple put them under (e.g., no video mirroring in the original iPad) or to provide useful features that Apple decided not to include (e.g., changing the default Web browser).
I do NOT condone jailbreaking for downloading and using apps illegally. It is one thing to test and buy later; it is another to not pay altogether.
Favourite free apps
- Account Changer (adds Accounts button to AppStore app for toggling between accounts)
- Badges Begone (remove persistent numbers on app badges)
- Browser Changer (change the default Web browser on iOS devices)
- Curiosa (provides Cydia updates and notifications in the background)
- DoNotDisturb (adds this switch to notification tray)
- FullForce (for iPad, “expands” the resolution of some iPhone apps to suit the iPad without the pixellation)
- iCleaner (remove unnecessary files)
- SBSettings (to access and modify a host of settings)
- SwipeSelection (speeds up text selecting and editing)
- Winterboard (customize backgrounds, ringtones, etc.)
- Veency (pair your device with a computer and demonstrate apps by controlling and projecting them via the computer)
- xMessages (force timestamps on all iMessages)
Favourite paid apps
- DisplayOut (mirror and project your entire iOS display, not just select apps)
- MyWi (I use this to share my iPad’s 3G signal via wifi with other devices)
