Social + mobile = ?

Amber Mac gave a keynote address at mLearnCon in San Jose.
She asked: What would happen if mobile learning and social media had a baby?
I find that question intriguing because of CeL’s efforts to promote social, open and mobile learning and I find huge overlaps in the social and mobile fronts.
From her presentation file, some of the suggested babies names are:
- augmented reality
- gamification
- location based services
- crowdsourcing
- automated digital storytelling
The list is not far off from the educational technologies projected by the 2011 K-12 Horizon Report to have an impact over the next few years. It’s something to think about as we refine our own efforts.
